Stephen Poland - President & CEO
Mr. Poland is the founding executive of 1x1 Media, LLC, leading its initial startup, establishing and growing 1x1's strategic partnerships, and overseeing its operations. Mr. Poland brings more than 15 years leadership experience in customer service, financial management, operational development, and IT Systems development, focused in the optical media and consumer products industries.
Before founding 1x1 Media, Steve served as the Director of Digital & On-demand Services for Arvato Storage Media (a division of Bertelsmann AG) - the world's 3rd largest CD/DVD replicator and supply chain services company. Prior to his tenure at Arvato, Steve held leadership and management positions with The Walt Disney Company, and Macmillan Computer Publishing - publisher of the Complete Idiot's Guides Series. Mr. Poland holds BS in Industrial Management from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. Steve is married and lives in Asheville, NC.
Ms. Bucki brings expertise in business development, market research, design, marketing, and information technology to the 1x1 Media, LLC team. As an author, trainer, and publishing consultant, Bucki wrote and taught about computers and software for more than 15 years. She was Associate Publisher Alpha Books imprint of the former Macmillan Computer Publishing (now a division of Pearson), where she spearheaded new product development. Prior to moving into technology publishing, Bucki was with Borshoff Johnson & Co. (now Borshoff Johnson Matthews), the largest PR firm in Indianapolis, where she managed PR and marketing campaigns for a variety of clients including a major hospital and a fashion retailer. Robert Wilson - (Adviser - Tech 2020) Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Capital & Partner Development
Mr. Wilson has a diverse background that includes key roles in Fortune 500 and technology-based start-up companies. He held executive management positions in a small technology company that had a successful IPO and sellout to a large Fortune 500 company. He has held numerous senior management positions in Sales & Marketing, Operations, Product Development, Services, and Training. He has also owned his a consulting company focused on coaching and developing technology-based start-up companies. Bob also has experience with Board or Director roles, M&A experience, international markets, software and engineering based products, technology commercialization and licensing, partnership and alliance development, and industrial and professional services markets. In the past 5 years in his role as Center for Entrepreneurial Growth director, for Tech 2020 (Knoxville, TN), Bob has worked with over 70 startup companies, helped to establish new programs in Chattanooga TN, London KY, South Carolina, Asheville, NC, and manages a team of 5 high-level resources in 4 formal programs.
Todd Fisher - (Adviser - Tech 2020) Business Development, Operations, Capital & Partner Development
Mr. Fisher has help executive management positions at a large Fortune 500 company as well as small start ups. As President of a start-up with a patented agricultural growing process, Todd was responsible for all aspects of the business including fund raising, technical operations, business plan development, and managing the road map that took the company from a patented idea to proving the technical viability of the business. As Vice President & Director at Motorola, Inc., Mr. Fisher ran an international start up business that developed global markets for the Motorola technology used by Nextel. These systems were successfully sold in Asia, Central America, South America, and the Middle East. He also led another start up business that utilized wireless technology to improve the efficiency of beverage company route drivers. Todd's operational experience includes distribution, logistics, procurement and repair operations, as well as product development, sales, strategic marketing, and engineering. Todd is also a Vice President of Enterpriser, LLC, a business consulting firm he and his wife started. Mr. Fisher received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
